Full disclosure I have little to no interest in, horses. That reason alone was why I chose to concept and design a magazine for people interested in the lifestyle that comes along with horse racing. The individuals who work and play in this field typically have a lot of disposable income, and I wanted the magazine layout to reference that. Through research I learned the industry is worth nearly 100 billion dollars despite the belief it's dying sport. I felt this was compelling enough for my issue topic. I demonstrated that visually throughout the magazine removing certain components of the image, making the point that just because you can't see everything doesn't mean its not there. Lets just say it lead to a lot of time with the cloning tool in photoshop.
